About COAPTA
What is COAPTA?
COAPTA is a boutique organisational development firm based in French-speaking Switzerland. Two senior consultants, a network of six trusted partners. The approach rests on a core conviction: sustainable performance emerges from alignment between what individuals experience, what the team produces, and what the structure carries.
Is COAPTA a large consulting firm?
No. The boutique positioning is deliberate: quality and fit take priority over growth. COAPTA does not simply respond to a request — it first helps clarify it. Every engagement begins with reformulating the problem before proposing any solution.
When was COAPTA founded?
The firm was founded in 2015 by Vincent Musolino.
What languages does COAPTA work in?
French (primary language) and English. German and Italian are also available for certain services.
Where does the name COAPTA come from?
COAPTA is an adapted transliteration of a word in Quenya meaning exchange. Quenya is the language of the High Elves in J. R. R. Tolkien’s universe.
Philosophy and approach
What is COAPTA’s intervention philosophy?
COAPTA works simultaneously across three organisational levels: individual, team, and structure. An intervention at a single level treats symptoms without addressing the underlying mechanisms. The explicit goal of every engagement is client autonomy — not dependency on the firm.
Are the models used scientifically grounded?
Yes. All interventions draw on models from behavioural science and organisational development (OD), applied to the client’s actual context. Generic frameworks are rarely used.
How does COAPTA approach a new engagement?
Through reformulation: before proposing anything, COAPTA works to clarify the real demand. What is presented as a problem is often the symptom of a deeper issue. A typical example is a request for communication training as a solution to what is actually a cluster of signals pointing to dysfunction between a team manager and their team, the organisation’s culture, internal power dynamics, and the individuals involved.

What is professional coaching?
An individual accompaniment to develop self-awareness, clarify leadership intentions, and strengthen professional effectiveness. Aimed at managers and professionals in transition or development.
What is executive coaching?
A tailored accompaniment for senior leaders. In-depth work on posture, blind spots, decision-making, and impact in complex contexts.
What is the difference between professional coaching and executive coaching?
Both services share the same philosophy — belief in the person’s capacity to develop, focus on the future rather than the past — and the same core objective: individual performance. They differ in target audience, depth of work, and structure.
Professional coaching is for any manager wishing to work on a concrete request related to their performance, development, or career evolution. Sessions last 1h30 and span 4 to 12 meetings. A tripartite interview with the commissioning party frames the engagement.
Executive coaching targets senior managers and executives. The work goes further: it connects the concrete request with an in-depth exploration of the person’s personality, and explicitly integrates organisational performance as a horizon. The structure is more comprehensive — initial assessment (semi-structured interviews, 360°, psychometric tools), a full-day initial feedback session, then action-feedback cycles in 3-hour sessions. Topics addressed include leadership team dynamics, organisational politics, personal balance, role and posture.
In practice: professional coaching addresses an individual request; executive coaching works on the person in relation to the organisation.
What is the difference between team coaching and executive team coaching?
Team coaching is for any type of team — operational, project, or functional — seeking to improve its collective dynamics and performance. Executive team coaching specifically targets leadership committees, with work on strategic alignment, collective governance, and decision-making consistency at the top of the organisation.
What is COAPTA Collective Learning™?
A proprietary collective learning programme that combines collective intelligence with on-the-job anchoring. Designed for groups of managers or employees who learn together from their actual professional realities.
Does COAPTA offer digital training?
Yes, but integrated with in-person work. COAPTA designs bespoke microlearning modules adapted to managers’ time constraints and organisations’ operational realities. Modules are accessible online and can be embedded in a broader development programme.
What is a trusted person in the workplace (PCE)?
A neutral, trained third party, mandated by the organisation, to whom employees can speak in complete confidence when facing relational difficulties, conflict, or sensitive situations at work.
For whom
Who are COAPTA’s services for?
For executives, leadership teams, HR directors, and managers in organisations — SMEs, large companies, institutions — facing challenges of collective performance, leadership development, or organisational transformation.
Does COAPTA work with SMEs?
Yes. The size of the organisation matters less than the clarity of the request and alignment with COAPTA’s approach. SME mandates represent a significant share of the firm’s activity.
Does COAPTA work with public institutions?
Yes. COAPTA is active at the level of the Swiss Confederation (training), cantons (training, consulting), and Swiss municipalities (training, consulting).
Where does COAPTA operate?
COAPTA is based in French-speaking Switzerland and operates beyond this region, in French and English, depending on the engagement.
Resources
Does COAPTA have a podcast?
Yes. Leadershift is a French-language podcast for executives and managers. Each episode addresses a topic in leadership, organisational development, or collective performance, combining academic rigour with practical relevance. Over 300 episodes published, available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Does COAPTA publish blog articles?
Yes. COAPTA publishes articles in French on topics related to management, leadership, and organisational development.
Is there a newsletter?
No. An automated B2C approach is not consistent with the firm’s philosophy.
